here is a super rare original unpublished "50TH ANNIVERSARY HISTORY 1917-1967: FORT JACKSON, S.C. United States Army Training Center INFANTRY Columbia, South Carolina" concise text consisting of 224 pages and hundreds of photographs of the complete history of the "FORT JACKSON S.C. Infantry training center. from it's beginnings and ground breaking through world war 2, the korean war, and ending in vietnam, contains all the commanders, the first official map, and sections on every plan and change ever instituted at the center. there is just to much to mention, it is the most comprehensive text on a military installation I have ever seen. please note I took photos of a glimpse of some of the photography in the book and photos of just 2 pages of the chapters, the book is 75-85% text all in type! there is no publishing information and no editor or writing credits, the book is completely typeset. it is again very rare and may very well be one of a very few ever produced. I could find no actual photos of the cover or similar books for sale or past auction information. The text only is available through military libraries in digital form as far as I can tell. If anyone has ever seen one or knows of a production number or any other pertinent info concerning this book any help would be appreciated. book is in super condition and looks as if it were never read. the cover has light sun exposure fade lines around edges, no rips or tears or defacing to pages, no ownership names, pages are very very clean. cover has minor and negligible edge and light corner wear. this book will ship priority mail and well protected. please view all pics and read full item condition. I purchased this from a South Carolina Antiques dealer just this past weekend at the Brimfield Mass. Antiques show.
