  • Condition: This plate was part of a large Wedgwood collection that was stored away for many years, and it is in extremely good condition for its age - there are no chips, cracks, repairs, stains or marks anywhere on this item. Typical of antique china, some fine, light crazing is present in the clear glaze, but it is only noticeable up very close. Any reflection, distortion or shadows in the photos is the result of camera and lighting issues.

    Description

    Rare Vintage Wedgwood U. S. Naval Academy Commemorative Plate - made in England. This transferware plate measures approximately 10" inches across. It  has a decorative nautical-themed border, with a central image featuring the Old Main Gate on the U. S. Naval Academy campus. The back of this plate carries the manufacturer's mark: "Wedgwood - Etruria, England --
    Sole Importers - Jones, McDuffee & Stratton - Boston
    ".  The Wedgwood impression/incision is also present.
