The Burtco Trump Plaza Chips are
possibly the rarest of the Trump Casino chips.
In1997 Donald Trump purchased a large lot of all new casino chips for Trump Plaza Casino from chip manufacturer Burtco. After they were delivered it was discovered the chips were cracking/breaking and other errors were made in the design of the chips. Trump sent them all back to be destroyed, except somehow after they were returned a few made it into the hands of several people that tried to cash them in... they were arrested.
Below is a first hand account of the story recently sent to me by a Trump Plaza Casino employee at that time:
Dear Chipfever,
Your Trump Plaza Chips, I just wanted to fill you in as I was a former employee of Trump Plaza in the late 80s, the only time
I ever saw these was when a gentleman came and tried to redeem them and I was told by Casino management to detain the individual as the chips were never issued and were rejected upon delivery and sent back to the manufacturer for Destruction,
then a few months later the chips begin to show up at the the casino for Redemption, I was told by a detective at the time from the division of gaming enforcement that they had gone up to Maine where I believe the manufacturer was located and had made several arrests in the past as everyone that had been detained at the casino had some connection to the manufacturer or to the town where it was made.
So yes sir I can attest that you have the
