Mortens Studio, located in Chicago, IL., was in business from 1931 until the mid 1950s. Known for their animal figurines, now highly sought after by collectors, the figurines have a metal skeleton covered by a hydrocalcium body, over which decoration and glaze are applied. Due to their composition, these figurines are subject to damage, which is typically present.
This is the Mortens standing Pomeranian dog figurine, measuring 4" long by 4" tall. Hallmark is present under base. There is a breed paper label "I Am A Pomeranian" on top of the tail and a Royal Design label on this ribcage.
