Lovely Vintage Set 4 Currier Roby Sterling Silver c1742 Style Candlesticks 10"

Description

Presented is a beautiful set of 4 Currier & Roby sterling silver candlesticks. These candlesticks date to around the 1920s-1940s, though they are done in a much older style. The candlesticks are done in a classical English style, reproductions of circa 1742 pieces. The candlesticks have notched-corner square bases and attractive paneled shafts, flaring out to a decorative knop above the base and below the socle. The candlesticks have removable wax drips or bobeches, for ease of cleaning. The candlesticks are filled/weighted for stability.
This set is in great overall condition. One candlestick has a minor repair to the narrow point of the shaft above the base, which is hard to notice. All the candlesticks have some minor dings here and there, but nothing excessive. There are no splits, no dents, and no other repairs.
The underside of each candlestick is stamped with the Currier & Roby maker's mark, Gebelein's retail mark, sterling, and "Reproduction circa 1742."
Each candlestick is about 10 inches tall.
The total weight for the set is 4177 grams, though not all of this weight is silver due to the weighting of the candlesticks. The bobeches/wax drips alone weigh 200 grams (7.1 regular ounces) which gives you an idea how thick the silver is for the rest of the candlesticks.
