    You are bidding on a recently home-made version of the famous KNIL bush hat, ca 1910-1940. Only very few of the original ones survived, and found their ways to musea and high-level collections. It was worn by the indonesian, european and Dutch military of the Dutch Colonial troops to suppress the people in the Netherlands Indies (now Indonesia), the Royal Netherlands Indies Army (Koninklijk Nederlands Indisch Leger), KNIL. This army of ca 30.000 troops was easily beaten by the Japanese in 1941-1942 in 6 weeks. The hat is perfectly made to the original.
