Description

The German Equestrian Badge was established by the German National Federation for the Breeding and Testing of Thoroughbreds in 1930. It was issued in three grades (Bronze, Silver, and Gold) and appeared as a mounted horseman surrounded by an oak leaf wreath. It was officially recognized as a national award so it could be worn on a military uniform.
Many recipients were German
Reichswehr
and
Wehrmacht
cavalry officers.  Two recipients of the German Equestrian Badge were Reinhard Heydrich and Hermann Fegelein.
This is a nicely-detailed reproduction of the gold grade of the award.  It is fully functional.
