ANTIQUE CHINESE HU FORM VASE *RARE* FAHUA PORCELAIN POT WITH APPLIED DECORATION

***ATTENTION*** This old pot sold as is. We felt it has some important historical value so we have decided to offer it despite the condition. (See description and pictures for details).
What we have here is a true oddity! This is an antique Chinese Fahua Hu form vase with applied decoration. Rarely seen on the market.
Features 3 buddhist guardian lions parading around the body, raised cloud forms, and what could be a string of lanterns in red, green and yellow around the exterior rim. The interior rim has applied string of red lanterns. All colors typical of Qing famille verte wares.
Has a 4 character mark which was carved into the bottom before the pot was fired.
Was broken and repaired long ago. Some small areas of enamel and material loss. In stable condition, and its a heavily potted piece- weight is 4 pounds 7.4 ounces.
Measures 8” width x 9” height. (20.32cm W x 22.86cm H)
Perhaps this piece was created to celebrate a holiday or important event? Maybe made for a temple to hold incense sticks? It’s history remains to be discovered!
