This coat was made by Jacob Reed’s Sons out of Norristown. PA.  It was designed for the Virginia Military Institutes students as part of their uniforms.  There is no size indicator in this jacket but the measurements are as follows:
Total Length (from the center of the neck down the back of the jacket to the bottom) 29”
Shoulders (top shoulder stitching across back to opposite side stitching) 16.5”
Chest (armpit to armpit across the front X 2) 35”
Waist (across front waist area X 2) 33”
Length of Sleeve (from top shoulder stitching to end of cuff) 26.5”
The shoulders are padded and the zipper is installed upside down from a normal one.  There are clips above and below the zipper to keep the coat together.  This item is in very good condition and is free of any holes, rips, stains etc.  There are however some loose threads throughout the jacket.
