Sept. 10 1935 - The keel of the new cruiser, CL-48 USS Honolulu, was laid on Sept. 10 1935 at the Brooklyn Navy Yard with numerous officials present. Representative John J. Delaney (left in light suit), William E. McGonagle (holding chain), Territorial Treasurer of Hawaii, and Rear Admiral Yates Stirling Jr Commandant of the 3rd Naval District, are shown at the ceremonies. McGonagle represented the Governor of Hawaii.
Nice reproduction which has been sent to professional photographic developers for maximum quality. It is on either glossy or luster photographic paper. Note in some instances small amounts of the image edge may be missing in the actual photo.
